48ft & 53ft shipping containers

Need more length than a standard 40ft? We source domestic 48ft and 53ft containers on request. These larger units aren't held as everyday stock, so pricing and availability are confirmed per order — tell us what you need and we'll quote it.

53ft containers

The largest common domestic unit at 53' long and 9'6" high-cube height — roughly 60% more floor space than a 40ft. Many 53ft units have smooth (plate) interior walls, which makes them easier to insulate, line, or convert. Popular for large storage, workshops, and reefer/insulation builds.

48ft containers

A domestic 48' unit — longer than a standard 40ft, with the extra capacity of a high-cube. A good middle ground when a 40ft is tight but a 53ft is more than you need. Availability varies by region.

Why smooth walls matter

Many 48ft and 53ft domestic containers are built with flat, smooth interior wall panels rather than the corrugated steel of ISO ocean containers. That flat surface makes it much simpler to add framing, insulation, or interior finish — a big advantage if you plan to convert the unit or insulate it yourself.
